About Karen Faye

My name is Karen Faye. I am an artist by nature and a makeup artist by trade. I have been drawing and painting as long as I have been able to hold a crayon and my favorite subject matter has always been the human being. I have turned a lifetime of interest and study into a career as a makeup and hair artist.

There has been no better reward in this world to me, than to make someone feel wonderful about themselves. To my amazing good fortune I have been able to share my gift with some of the world’s most interesting and talented people. To be able to combine my energy with some of the greatest living artists of my time, has been more than I could have ever dreamed for myself.

I have had the honor to work with photographers such as Albert Watson, Jonathan Exley, Herb Ritts, Matthew Ralston, Gregg Gorman and directors such as Martin Scorcese, Francis Ford Coppolla, Joe Pitka, Nick Brandt, David Fincher and many more.

But there is one special person who gave me more in my life than anyone. His name is Michael Jackson. He found me while working with photographer, Dick Zimmerman, and asked me to work with him on his album cover titled, ‘Thriller’.

People speak of luck or destiny, but whatever it was, it was the luckiest day of my life when this magical man sat in the makeup chair before me. He has taken me on the most incredible journey with him over the past 30 years. He contributed to just about every aspect of my life. Most of all, he gave me his trust in my abilities to create and participate in his legendary history making visuals over the course of three world tours, all of his videos and performances as well as countless appearances and photo shoots.
